For dogs who already have experience with sniffing. The treats are placed in the holes under the ball and the ball is placed on top of the treat. The dog is trying to get the ball out of the hole. Each ball has a loop made of strong webbing . The dog has to figure out how to get the ball out. One bowl is flexible - attached with Velcro. When teaching the dog, we first proceed by taking the bare bowl in the palm of our hands and placing treats at the bottom. The dog immediately understands and sniffs the treat. Subsequently, we tilt the bowl in the palm of the hand with a ball . The dog will try to roll the ball away with its muzzle and paw. He will also try to grab the strap. If the dog can handle this. Attach the bowl back to the blanket and proceed in the same way. Place the treats in the bowls and cover with a ball.

What are sniffing blankets - Hersenwerk?
The blankets are made based on the findings of Hersenwerk .
The colors that are selected are only those that dogs see and their combinations.
We really took care when developing the blankets, and the Dutch have a large share in the themes and systems. At 4dox we have licensed production of this brand and use the Hersenwerk logo to confirm the authenticity of the approved blankets . And how do blankets work?
Spread the blanket on a non-slip surface, ideally a low carpet. You let the dog watch, but not to interfere yet. Place small treats in the hiding places in the blanket. (must be training - i.e. so that the dog does not have to bite while working). After distributing the treats (for example, 8-10 places), we instruct the dog - sniff or take . The dog quickly understands what to do. The goal is for him to figure out how to get each treat. It will help uncover individual parts of the blanket with its snout and paw. Let the dog work for a maximum of 20 minutes . Even if it doesn't seem like it, it's very stressful for him mentally . It helps him to strongly develop brain activity . The dog will be contentedly tired, as if he had been running.
When sniffing the dog, be a part of it and be with it, it feels your support and will feel confident. Do not praise him after finding the treat. If he couldn't find one, it doesn't matter, the goal is not to find as many treats as possible, but the sniffing itself . So if you want to tire and calm your dog, the blanket is the right one.
We have blankets in 3 levels of difficulty . For beginner dogs, we recommend the labyrinth, hearts, pom-poms . For intermediates, we recommend slippers and fringes . For advanced users, we recommend fringes and balls .
The blankets are made from a combination of synthetic chamois (abrasion-resistant) and microfibre (hair does not stick) . Velcro fasteners with caps are located below. The blanket can be attached to the carpet with zippers. The blanket is fully machine washable.
